Recently I made a speed boat cake for a regular client. Her husband was having a birthday, and she wanted to surprise him with a replica of his boat. He and his son are shown here, "racing". The cake was a foot long, and was made of vanilla butter cake (I was recently told it tastes wonderfully like shortbread) and fresh strawberry buttercream. This cake was quite the feat, and under a time crunch, so I am pleased with how it turned out. And for those of you in our facebook group, you will recognize this as last week's answer to "What did this become?"
