Baby shower cakes can be sweet, repetitive and pale coloured for many cake decorators (including myself), so when a client asked my to replicate a zinzabar toybox as a cake, it was a nice change! The actual toy box is featured at the end of this post.
The cake inside was dark chocolate with mocha buttercream. The lid of the toybox was made with gumpaste and all decorations are made freehand out of fondant and/or hand-painted on. My favourite animals were the giraffe's and the turtles!
