This weekend I had the privilege of working on a beautiful wedding cake, with chocolate fondant strips vertically placed around each tier. It is popular now, I find, to have tiers at different heights and this is a prime example. It is not my design, and I did my best to decorate it as well as the original. Despite the fact that the cake is covered in chocolate, inside the flavour is entirely vanilla butter cake with vanilla buttercream. Flowers and leaves are handmade in gumpaste.
